more accurate translations between CAD systems. If you need a version not listed, please call (509) 358-2036.
SYSTEM OVERVIEW
·
Three Step, Feature Based, Process Centric Translation
Software
The three steps include data extraction, model creation, and model
analysis. In the first step all of the necessary data is extracted from the
model using the actual source CAD system. All of the feature information,
surfaces and analysis data is extracted and stored by Acc-u-Trans.
Next is the creation step. This is where Acc-u-Trans literally builds
the model feature by feature right in the target CAD system. If the target CAD
system needs assistance with any feature (either because the feature type does
not exist in the target system or the target system can not resolve the
geometry being delivered to it) Acc-u-Trans goes through it’s patent pending
“Interrupt” process. Once the issue is resolved the system continues the
creation process.
When the translation is complete, the Mirror Model Comparator (MMC) is
used to compare the model created in the new system to the original model. The
MMC will find all discrepancies (if any exist) between the two models and
display it to a user by using a set of points. These points can be measured to
a surface or an edge of the model. The tolerance allowance of the MMC check is
specified by the user. In our Service Center we check the models using a
tolerance of .0005”.

·
Software Continues After Human User Helps The Target CAD
System Resolve A Problem Feature – Ensuring a 100% Feature-based Translation
Acc-u-Trans is the only feature-based CAD data translation tool which
ensures a completely feature-based translated file even when the target CAD
system is unable to automatically generate/support the feature coming from the
source CAD system. This is because of TTI’s patent-pending mechanisms that
allow the user to resolve geometry during the automated translation process.
Acc-u-Trans provides all the tools necessary to handle these problems very
quickly. This avoids two potentially bigger problems: 1) the translated model
is partially feature-based and partially neutral, and 2) unstable feature trees
resulting from additional geometry created on top of unresolved issues.
Customers have claimed 70% increases in productivity when compared to
manually re-mastering models.
This description is very much like the actual
design process today. Typically during any new design process a significant
amount of the time spent by the designer is resolving geometric limitations of
the CAD system being used. Since all CAD systems have different sets of strengths
and weaknesses different areas of this already resolved geometry will again
have problems when moving a model from one CAD system to another.
This is exactly the problem that Acc-u-Trans was designed to overcome. Once an
operator resolves this problem for the CAD system then Acc-u-Trans continues
the automated process of translating or mapping the features into the target
system.

NEW FUNCTIONALITY IN 6.0
·
Assembly Constraints

Acc-u-Trans v 6.0 now supports Assembly Constraints. The system supports both
axial and planar constraints. For all target CAD systems that support axial and
planar constraints, Acc-u-Trans will create the assemblies using the same axial
and planar constraints that were used in the source assembly model.
·
Material Properties
All material properties are mapped during
translation. This means upon completion of your translation you will now have
material call outs and associated density information defined in the target CAD
model to match the call outs defined in the source CAD system.
·
>Layers
The translation of all layer information is now
included. All of the layers that were used in the source model are now intact
and available in the target model.
·
Auto Suppression of Hidden Solids From Batch Operation
This is an extremely effective way to deal with
tooling solids in the model. The functionality will allow the batch processor
to continue translating models rather than interrupting on data that is not
required for the finished model.
·
Improved Pattern Support
The improved pattern support also eliminates
another pesky interrupt from the past. Now Acc-u-Trans will create more pattern
features automatically without any operator assistance reducing the total
translation time even more.
·
Custom Naming of Translated Models
Acc-u-Trans now supports the ability for the user
to rename a part during the translation process prior to assembling it. This
option was requested by many users to better handle delivery of their
customer’s files back to them. This allows the user to match the naming
standard in the target system which is probably different than the original
naming standard used.
·
Merging of Translation Projects For Better Parallel Processing
of Translation Jobs
This new feature allows for multiple users working
on the same translation project. The feature allows for the merging of these
individual project files back together at any time.
·
Faster Translation Executables
In a continuing effort to keep our code clean and
efficient some of the executables are now processing much faster than in past
versions, up to 60% faster in some cases. Also the use of some new capabilities
within the CAD systems has resulted in faster processing times.
·
Part Parameters/Notes
Part Parameters and notes are translated by
Acc-u-Trans as well. This supplies even more information in addition to the
feature-based translation with complete and accurate data.
·
Linked Components
Acc-u-Trans now supports linked or wave link
bodies within the translation process.
·
Pipes
Pipes are now automatically
supported as sweeps in some systems.
